1D or 2D barcode scanner?

A 1D (laser or linear) scanner reads traditional barcodes on products. A 2D imager reads those plus QR codes and barcodes shown on a phone screen, which matters if your customers pay or show coupons through a mobile app. If you are unsure, a 2D imager is the safer choice because it reads everything.

Wired, wireless, or hands-free

Wired scanners are the simplest and most dependable for a counter. Wireless (Bluetooth or radio) scanners suit warehouses, large stores and shelf counting. Hands-free presentation scanners sit on the counter and read items as you pass them, which speeds up busy checkouts.

Built for the job

For warehouses and factories choose an industrial scanner rated for drops and dust. Digi Solution supplies Zebra, Honeywell and Newland scanners as an authorized distributor, with local warranty. Tell us where it will be used and how many scans a day, and we will suggest a model.

Common questions

Can a barcode scanner read QR codes and phone screens?

A 2D imager scanner can. A basic 1D laser scanner cannot read QR codes and often struggles with phone screens.

Which barcode scanner is best for a supershop or pharmacy?

A 2D imager, wired or hands-free, is the usual choice. It reads standard barcodes, QR codes and damaged labels quickly.

What is the difference between wired and wireless scanners?

Wired scanners are cheapest and never need charging. Wireless scanners let staff scan away from the counter, such as on shelves or in a warehouse.

Are your Zebra and Honeywell scanners genuine?

Yes. Digi Solution is a Zebra Premier Solution Partner and an authorized Honeywell distributor in Bangladesh, and the authorization certificates are on our home page.
